I have discontinued the Southampton Paumanok Path Steward’s partnership with Southampton Trails Preservation Society. The groundswell of interest that I expected to be generated by this magnificent trail is unfortunately nowhere evident.

Advocacy groups grow by promoting large exciting initiatives. The 125-mile Paumanok Path could easily become a world class trail – truly exciting! Many diverse organizations are vested in it, and it has a huge potential to expand tourism on the East End. Eco-friendly, inn-to-inn hiking has promoted tourism in many other areas of the world, while increasing awareness and appreciation of the natural environment.

I continue to seek partnerships with groups who have the vision to get this done!
